Description
Considering that all we've seen of Peridot interacting with others so far is her getting threatened, bossed around and/or yelled at, I imagine she's not too used to hearing compliments.
I also subscribe to the theory that Peridot is a newly produced Gem, as in the mission to check on the warp drive was her first mission. It would explain her rapid development from robotic to what we saw in Steven Bomb 3, and her amazement the first time she uses any of her tech. NOTE THAT THIS IS A THEORY AND MAY BE PROVE WRONG, but I'm going with it here because I like it and it's as of this writing not proven wrong.
